Those are telling statistics. Maybe it will change. 98% of the students at the middle school in Kayenta passed the AIMS writing component this spring. For some reason, though, few of us are excited by that, since we didn't make AYP in the other areas. Is it any accident that officials would ignore writing- the most empowering subject of all?
